Under bus storage - helpful or hindrance?

Looking at my first skoolie, I’m curious what you all think of buses with cargo/storage bins built in to the chassis. I’m planning to do water tanks and was thinking I might be able to utilize those bins for some of my equipment, but I wasn’t sure if they would actually be strong enough or large enough for that purpose.

Any thoughts? I couldn’t find any threads on the topic but my search terms may not have been right.

Underbody storage is universally regarded as awesome to find on a bus. Pass-through storage (found only on RE buses because the driveshaft prevents it on front-engined buses) is even better.
