If you put the van on the top, you MUST put the driver up there too,
like they do fishing boats with the upper level helm..

Although Randy Grubb has already done it, you can too..

Maybe have a helm in the top and the bottom.

I don't think you'll find a decent VW bus as a donor for a reasonable price (i.e. free) anymore.

Actually, with so many that have floors so rotten they can't be restored as vehicles, I wouldn't bet on that. BUT, with enough of them being repurposed as such, one can only guess as to what that might do for the market, donor or not.

The ones with lots of windows will be thousands even if rusted out.
However, why use a vw van? How about a 64 Ford Falcon Wagon or Chevy Suburban, etc, don't just copy someone else.

I once thought about modifying my GMC Safari's roof by grafting a pop-out-style window from the sliding door of another Astro or Safari to have a custom sunroof / moonroof... I can see a Savana / Express / Suburban / Yukon / Tahoe upper section on a skoolie...

I have 2 square body and one OBS Suburban I'll donate to whoever wants to come get them. I would love to see that done, but not to mine!
