Wall to wall dim along curve of ceiling?
I'm playing with ideas for temporary insulation, and wondering how far it is along the inside of the ceiling curve, from one wall to the other. You know, like, "Could one bend a piece of luan and place it neatly below the metal ceiling?"
I *know* that I ought to remove the ceiling tin and fiberglass and hire a contractor to foam it. But we're really likely to sell the at the other end of our move: I'm making a moving van with a seven-foot sleeping block at the far back. It would be great to insulate THAT part so we could cool it down properly - we're likely to be moving during summer months.
One idea was to just make my own 'cooler' like the foam they add to a cardboard box for shipping: 3" insulating board, top, sides, and bottom, and a portable air conditioner. Done! I would lose a foot of headroom and prolly ought to have some plywood on the floor so I don't dent it, but it would certainly be insulated.
