Ward Bus Body Parts ?

Hi...I'm looking for around 26 of these thingy's

I'm not sure what they're called ....'Endcaps' maybe ?
They're the pieces that are on the ends of the Rub rails .
I want to use them on all the exterior cuts I've made on our bus to make things look good.

I tried getting onto ward Buses website http://www.wardbuses.com and it kept hanging up on me.
Does anyone have Wards Phone #

Thanks for the help folks
Michael & Millie

Thanks for the #

Got a bunch of emails with the same info earlier today ....I called WARD .
Guess what they want for only 1 of those endcaps ...
$52.50 + shipping !!!!
Yikes

That would run us around $1365.00 + shipping

Anybody have any other ideas how I could go about making the rub rail ends look good ?

Thanks again

There's gotta be scrapyard with buses you can pull em off of. Or you could always make a mold and then make your own out body filler or fiberglass.

Hey, that was my idea, too!

I originally suggested that he make a female mold out of plaster of Paris, and then line it with fiber glass and use a male plug (from the back side) made out of modelling clay to press the fiberglass down into the female mold.

Now that I think about it and look at the part more, your idea about using Bondo seems good, too.

Make the female mold, fill it with Bondo, lay some fiberglass on the back of the Bond in the mold, and put a big weight on it to hold it until the resin sets. The only place you really need the strength of fiberglass in a piece like this is in the flange area.

It might be a good idea to push some fiberglass down into the Bondo in the female mold just to make it harder to separate the Bondo from the fiberglass if the piece should flex any.

I was thinking the "flange area" could be made out of the same thickness sheetmetal as the original, after all it just a square. Then the molded fiberglass or bondo part adhered to it.

Some nice guy sent me a link to Transportation Acessories Company "TAC"...they had the endcaps I needed at only $9.69 ea.

Their prices seem to be really good on everything . Mostly they deal with School Bus company's ...but the phone rep told me their happy to sell to Schoolie converters too.

Here's their website

That's a nice site, still expensive, I want some of their rocker switches but they are $15.

Here's an odd item from their site:

Steve's right they're a bit on the spendy side....

But I was really happy to only pay around $10.00 per end cap versus what Ward wanted $53.00!!!

Gawd !!! It looks like it might stop raining tommorow ...cant wait to get back to our bus

I think that if I cut any holes in the side of my bus I will think hard about just removing the rub rails altogether.
