What am I looking at?

Hey skoolie folks,

Attached is a pic of the air lines above my bus’s front door (flat nose blue bird). I want to get rid of this so we can have more storage space but I don’t want to jeopardize something. My plan is to remove this and cap the air lines. Does anyone have any thoughts on how to do that? And I’m assuming the lines power the door but maybe they power other stuff I’m not aware of. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance for your time. I appreciate all the wisdom y’all offer! Safe travels!

So you don't want to be able to open and close the doors? Or maybe I missed a step in your plan.

That the door actuator, opens and closes the door. I removed them on both my busses. Cut off a 1 inch piece of air line with a sharp razor, go to Napa and get a peacock valve that fits, install and you done.

If your into projects, save that component for another project.

There my be an air regulator in the electrical door under the driver's window. My bluebird has a layout printed on the door which shows what's what. If so, you can delete the whole air circuit from there.

My air door went to an auxiliary manifold with the stop sign. When i removed the air line, i unscrewed the push connect fitting and put on an air compressor quick connect line since it was already behind a pressure protection valve. I left the cylinder in the door until i replace the front door entirely.

Is it possible to redirect this to an air horn? Or is it possible to give it some sort of fitting that will let me use it to pump up tires?

problem with air doors is that they go limp when the tank pressure drops so you pretty much have to have some sort of manual mechanism to keep the doors closed anyway..

Of you are abandoning the air line to the door I would trace it back to where it connects under the bus and terminate it there.

Very true. I just didn't recall any mention of a door replacement so was worried if OP starts disconnecting stuff they'll end up unintentionally disabling the door entirely.
