What dummy built this bus.

Here's a problem we all come across.

Dirty bus wiring is the worst!! Ive spent the last month re wiring the mess that Tomas thinks is a good wire job. Sure a hundred wires running everywhere may be safe to drive, but no way I can sleep at night knowing twenty plumbers did the factory wiring on this.

Problem.. Tomas bus line can't wire worth ****

Solution... Replace all and eliminate dumb useless switches.

school busses have wiring running everywhere purposely.. you have door and hatch switches and emergency window switches wired into a big loop.. only way to make this work and be customizable by the customer is to run wires everywhere.. buses are pre-wired for several heaters that arent often ordered.. again wires for each fan blower..



school lights are controlled by a single controller.. so home-run wires from each warning flasher back to the controller..



brake lights often have 2 circuits to make sure they keep working even with a switch or wire failure..



while once a bus becomes a used bus for sale it may be a "big ole ball of wires". it didnt start out that way..



i encourage everyone to elminate useless circuits like this guy did.. simplifies stuff and you often find you have wires running someplace close to where you need them without rewiring.. esp if you arent gutting oyur interior to the ribs..


later on the data-link multiplex systems were introduced.. eliminates a lot of wires but created a lot of "gremlins"..

My Thomas had 2 sets of wiring. When International build the chassis, they wired everything up. When Thomas built the chassis into a bus, they added a second wiring harness instead of using the existing wires, and ran them through channels above the windows on both sides of the bus. What a mess!

On my bluebird, they removed the factory wiring to the rear lights and replaced it with their own running in the channel above the left side windows

Just do what I did - light your driver's seat on fire and melt all the wires. Then, when you cut the old wiring out, you have to redo everything from scratch!

Update.... Rewire the whole bus.... Works fantastic now
