What’s this? (Pic)

Howdy. I’ve avoided asking. Googled. Thought. Door stopper, but not lined up with door. Piece of turned steel, doesn’t go to anything. Be kind. This is my first bus....
Thanks. I may be abused but at least I’ll sleep.
Peace. Doug

Is it magnetic? Looks like a magnetic door catch. But not lined up to do that?

I have metal disc's on my bus at key places that the driver is required to inspect daily. The driver carries a device that must be placed on the disc to record his/her inspection of that item then that data is recorded and saved to the bus yard.

Well I feel better. My bus is a 1986, so ain’t no fancy inspection do-dads on there. It’s on the right back corner, right above the bumper. No wheelchair lift.
The mystery continues! Thanks all. Happy Memorial Day

Panic Button?

Is there anything behind it? Is it wired?

Panic Button! But couldn’t be farther away from the drivers seat. It isn’t wired, just goes into the plastic cup that holds it. Goes nowhere, and it’s not magnetic. But thanks for playing!

How about taking another pic backed away from it so we can get a perspective of where it is and what's around it.
