What size/type batteries

What does everyone use for coach batteries?

I was considering using a bank of 6V golf cart batteries, either 4 or 6 in series/parallel configuration. Is there a disadvantage to having too many batteries?

Re: What size/type batteries

(Serious) Cost, weight, and physical size taken up...

(Joke)...And the urge to go park somewhere with no hookups for long periods of time??? (Just so there is no confusion)

Re: What size/type batteries

It's tough to find affordable 12 volts with the plate structure the 6 volts have to take the true deep cycling. 6 volt golf cart batteries are also available everywhere whereas the higher quality 12 volt trojans and the like are a little more difficult to find.
