What to do with a static vent?

What to do with a static vent? This week I am going to remove the sheet metal from my ceiling, next will be the spray foam. Do I leave the static vent? Or remove it?

I had a 14" piece of Lexan left over when I mounted the MaxxAir fan/vent in the skylight. It was the perfect size to cover the static vent and bring a little more light into the front of the bus.
The static vent on my roof was out of square mounted by 1.5".
