Ward is no longer in business. I would also like to find the weatherstripping for my door, I've been reconstructing it out of black duct tape everyyear. I think the only solution is to make your own.

I don't know much about Ward, so I don't know if it's a particular extrusion, but have you tried JC Whitney's weatherstip offerings?

If it's jsut a strip, maybe you could make a suitable replacement out of the rubber kick board used around wall bases in houses. I have used it successfully for some weather stripping applications.

Another thing you might look at is the weatherstripping that goes along the bottom of garage doors. It's straight, but has about a 15 degree bend down the length of it -- sort of a flat vee shape.

How about your local bus company? They might have replacement material on-site?

IIRC International/Navistar owns Ward now. You might be able to get the part from an IH dealer or a school bus parts company.

After posting this I did a Google search and found some info about them. The short answer is yes IH ownes them.

There is a product called ventglas used to make flexible joints in ductwork. It is like a fiberglass canvas, airtight and flexible, I think it would be ideal for this application. It is usually in 6 or 8 inch rolls.

Brad

Ventglas or Ventlon are the brand names.

Failing all else, J. C. Whitney sells a variety of weatherstrippings for automotive uses, check their catalog for sizes/varieties.
