where to find regulations??

I have spent over an hour trying to find the requirments to meet for a Motor home
Several phone calls where worthless as I got several different answers

I want the TN Ann Codes, I found some thru Tngov but it was basics like windshield wipers, lights mud flaps...the search function is real crappy..

So under which section are you all finding info for your state?
TIA

Re: where to find regulations??

I emailed the TN title and Registration office this morning this was the response:

Subject: title info needed

I am buying a used school bus to convert to a motor home

I am looking for the required equipment to comply with a title transfer to a motor home

After several phone calls to local dmv I have received several very different answers

I can not find specific TN ann. codes to cover this

Can you help me?

Thank you

Doug

Good Morning,

Thank you for your email. Did you receive a title for the bus? If so, along with the title and you receipts for the conversion portion of the bus is all that you will need to title and register the vehicle. It may still be coded as a bus in our system, but you will register as a passenger vehicle.

Hope this helps,

Kathy

So I sent another email, we'll see what happens

Re: where to find regulations??

it appears to me that like most all other states, they are not interested in the mechanical aspects of a vehicle that already has been registered and has wipers, etc. i think they want reciepts for the normal things most states require, like cooking and sleeping facilities, since those are unique to a bus conversion.

Re: where to find regulations??

Well it appears there are no official regs to go by...interesting

Thank you very much

No list on this type of project. Just keep your receipts and/or bill of sales for the things you get to convert.

Maybe from the different info you received it was for a rebuilt vehicle. Like if it was wrecked and you were rebuilding it. But that does not comply to your project.

Hope this helps,

Kathy

Kathy

Thank you for the response

I have just been told different things about beds, cooking area and water supplies etc

I just want to do this correctly the first time and had hoped there was an actual list to use as a guide

Thank you

Doug

************************************************** *************

So a cot, porta potti and a gallon jug of water should be sufficiant.....

So no regs for the TN title division...no regs from the insurance company(they also said keep reciepts, but had no "list" of requirements

Gotta love it
