Which models have the best headroom?

I'm planning on buying a bus for skoolie conversion, and I've been trying to narrow down what type of bus will suit my needs. One of my highest priorities is headroom (no pun intended...). I'm 6'4" tall and would really like to be able to stand up straight in my bus without having to raise the roof. Other than that, I'd like to get a cabover body style, and a 3/4 length bus. But first and foremost is headroom. I can compromise on the other features. From what I've learned so far, Thomas makes a "standard" nosed bus that has a roofline which raises up just behind the driver's area, which has like 6'5" or 6'6" headroom. What about other models? Any cabovers with high headroom, but not full length? I'd ideally like to get a bus with about 8-10 windows. Thanks!

I have seen Blue Birds with high ceilings with the flat nose. Where to find them... Couldn't tell ya but I know they are out there.

Re: Which models have the best headroom?

My 1976 BlueBird has a taller than average ceiling, about 76 or 77" if I remember right. I have had quite a few guys over 6'4" state that it's nice to not to lean over to walk down the isle. You can look at my pictures and see that there is a step up in the front and rear, maybe you can identify the old ones by that? sportyrick

Re: Which models have the best headroom?

Thomas manufactured three distinct roof heights.

high roof

the more common low roof...looks like the high roof only sloped down instead

I have also seen Thomas buses with a straight "mid roof" but those are even more rare than the tall roof in my experience.
