Measure the height of your windows before you order.

Mine are each about 10.5" tall. With the 20" X 100' roll I ordered I had 9" x 100' of scrap when I was done. I would have been better off with 24" X 50'

I messed up on a few windows and had to buy some more to finish the back windows.

Sorry, I meant model/series/color/version (or whatever they refer to it as).

Standard Automotive 1 Ply Non-Reflective Compare
Deluxe 2 Ply Non-Reflective Compare
Premium Series > 2 Ply High Performance
Automotive Security Film - 4 Mil Thick & Heat Shrinkable!
Specialty Automotive - 2 Tone (Graduated) Fader Films

I like the way it turned out. I want to make sure mine looks as good.

Re: Window tinting?

glock17,

I know it's been a while since you tinted yours. Where did you get the tint from and how is it holding up?

Re: Window tinting?

yeah I'm still around...

I got my tint off ebay about a year and a half ago. It's 20% tint and I'm fairly happy with it. You can still kinda see into the bus if there's light inside (at night or when it's not real bright out) but when it's brighter outside than inside you can't see in.

I think I paid around $60 for a 100 foot roll shipped. It seems to be holding up well, the only bad spots are where something scratched the tint from the inside, mainly int he back where I put the grill, or bikes and whatnot when taking long trips.

I don't know what kind of tint you'd call it. It's just regular window tint.

Here's a link to some tint on ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/WINDOW-F ... enameZWDVW

that's the same guy I got my tint from, looks like you can specify what %tint you want. I got 20% and like I said you can still see in at times. If you got 15% or 5% It would be a lot harder to see in, if I did mine again I'd try the 15% although less sunlight would get in.

Anyway again I recommend that you get a wider shorter roll than I did... I got a 20" X 100' roll. Since my windows are each about 10.5" tall (each piece of glass) I ended up with 100 feet of 9" scrap and I ran out - I had to buy more at a local store to finish the back 3 windows. I'd get a roll at least 24" wide and 50' long.

Here's another post about window tint...

No, as long as doesn't exceed 35% rating. 20% or more is legal on most other windows, other than the windscreen's top 6".
Anything darker than 35% will look cool but on rainy nights or any inclement weather it becomes very hard and dangerous to see out the windows.

You need to check with the state you are in. As far as I know it IS illegal to tint the front side windows.

I owned a window tint business. it IS legal for up to 35% on your front windows, no limit on the percentage from there back.
