Is anyone aware of any aftermarket windows that fit and look original but are higher quality with better insulating capabilities? Seems a waste to spray foam everything but leave all the stock windows. If not, how difficult is it to remove, sheet metal and add RV windows on a scale to not that bad to nightmare?

Bus windows are single-paned, so their insulating value is R-fuhgeddaboudit. Even double-paned RV windows aren't fantastic insulators, and even their hermetic seals will eventually fail from the road vibration. I've kept all my original bus windows in place and I'm building covering inserts for them out of 2" XPS foam board faced with 5mm plywood, held in place with snap-down draw latches, easily removable as needed. For fun I'm even going to trying building a few of these with double-paned glass salvaged from house windows embedded in them, to get at least a little light in side when I'm buttoned up in XPS.

Doing a DIY window swap in a bus is maybe a 2 on your scale, definitely doable and something from which you will develop skills that will be useful elsewhere on your project.

Peninsula Glass Company makes custom windows but they are pricey. I am also looking for windows but prefer the parallelogram style.

I stumbled across the fact that Lippert offers bus replacement windows a night or two ago. I emailed them asking about our bus and OEM replacements, but haven't heard back.

We're waffling back and forth between our stock windows and skinning with RV windows. I don't know..... Right now we're back to stock with covers something like musigenesis is talking about doing.

It's as easy as removing all the windows, welding sheet metal to replace them. Then weld steel tubing to frame where your RV windows will go. Cut the holes out and sandwich in the windows.

Do you have a build thread, a post, or more pictures that show this process? This is what I am envisioning doing. Did you have a source for the windows that was reasonable priced?

Thanks!

Build thread is called The Bucket List. I shopped for windows on ebay from RV suppliers and used distributors.
