wiper switch has 4 wires
I am assuming that 1 is hot, one is ground, 2 for slow and high speeds.
Do I have to have the ground hooked to the switch? I have a 3 pole DPDT switch.
I took the ground off the original and wipers still work.
SO, do I have to have the ground hooked up?
by the way, the ground wires on the switches are colored white on one and black on the other
I unhooked what I think is the ground wire, having 3 wires to the switch left on, they still worked, so I dont know, guess I will get out the meter. Its funny though, one is white on one switch and the other is black on the other.....
#1 wire from fuse panel
#2 wire from harness-it is hot when turned on
#3 wire to slow speed wipers *note same harness
#4 wire to fast speed wipers * note same harness
wipers will work with #2 unhooked
wipers will not work if #1 unhooked
could this be an illuminated switch that has a blown bulb maybe?
