The posting says it's a lien sale. Does that mean there is a lien against it that must be paid off as well?

most often a lien sale is that the owner is selling it to re-coup what they can off a lien that went bad.. the cheap price says to me they are trying to scew whoever they REPO'd it from or are going to use it as a tax write-off.. they dont want much $$ for it purposely most likely... perhaps stating that the $$ owed on it is say 5k and only re-couping $10. means they can write off the 4990.. or if it causes their LLC a loss thewy can roll that 4990 forward as a loss to take in the next tax year as a way to write down profits.. no idea for real. but sure sounds like something alongthe likes..

not touching it from CA.. it would easily be 5-7k to ship it to FLorida.. then you still dont know if it runs.. and what drivetrain it has in it... 454 gasoline? .. I think eric said his was originally gasser that was converted to the 3208/MT643.

I do not like the wording on the ad. Must be put on a trailer. That runs the price of moving up quickly. It will need a long or stretch lowboy to move it.
Just feels like the seller could be trouble to work with.
I saw a nice one(wanderlodge) driving around here not long ago. nice looking rig

I got a bunch of free stuff from an impound yard by being nice. They're just trying to cover their butts because of liability and all that.

the seller just has to cover his arse.. ultimately the reality is if I sell a vehicle and the buiyer doesnt get the title converted right away, parks it on a city street and it gets impounded, then its on the seller to pay the fees.. if the buyer drives the vehicle unsafely, crashes it, and runs away, the seller can be held liable.. if it leaves on a trailer the buyer and seller bith know it isnt being driven off his lot in an unsafe condition.. so if any suitsare filed later, it can be proved the vehucle left his posession on a trailer..

Most often here in Ca, a lien sale is associated either with an unpaid repair bill or a tow company stuck with a required junk tow. I've purchased many vehicles at lien sales and the only trick is the necessity to pay up any reg fees and parking tickets before they can be registered. If they are shipped out of state on a trailer or purchased by a dismantler they are exempt from those fees.

My research suggests that a 1971 Wanderlodge would have come with a gasoline Ford V8. Obviously that would have to go byebye right away if it hasn't already been swapped.

Some of them got swapped like Eric’s did. Since they were high end RV for their day people tended to keep them running

I could live with a gasser. It wouldn't be driven too far too often so gas would just fine.

Address shows that it's at place called Sarge's Inside Storage.
My guess is that someone stored it, and they've never seen them again for whatever reason. Storage company then put a lien on it as abandoned and now have the title in hand and want it gone.
Probably hasn't run or moved in how many years, which is why the stipulations are on the sale because they don't want any issues with it and definitely don't want it back. Cool wanderlodge but the buyers market is going to be small because not only do you have to have the cash to tow it out, you'll have to have a place to fix it and the knowledge on how to fix it.
I'd be interested if I was in the area.

Same here. If I weren't on literally the opposite corner of rht country I'd be quite interested. it would cost me a thousand bucks just to have a look at it and many thousands more to get it somewhere I could do anything with it.

It will be the ford 534 super duty V8, only used in medium and heavy duty trucks back then
And my wanderlodge came with a non turbo 3208 originally

I wouldn't touch it - WAY too far.
There are decent diesel Wanderlodges (as in, known condition, drivable, verified history) for $15,000 or so if you look carefully / wait a bit.
For a gasser in unknown condition, on the opposite side of the country, forget it. Even if the tow wasn't too bad, I think it would take forever to go through all the systems. It would be about the same amount of work as just building a skoolie to start with.
