This is a 12v mini split system I purchased for a skoolie build but I got the factory a/c working and not going to use it now and can't return it. It's over $700 after tax on Amazon, I'll sell it for $500 obo, it's still new in box I opened it only to look at everything. I purchased this CnCest brand after seeing someone use it on a van build on YouTube and had good reviews. I have it on eBay also. I'm in Clemson,SC or can ship it to you.
I was looking at these units.. and another similar one that has a condenser capable of being under-body or skirt mounted.. the spec's talk of them pulling 960 watts which likely means the claim of 12000 BTU to be true..
Yes the wattage should mean it actually does 12000btu, I found most reviews and info about these from people putting them in 18 wheelers for overnight sleeping. most people using 12000 btu mini splits in skoolies so should be a good size. Ill try to link the YouTube video if I can find it but the van build video they measured it pulling ~1000w at start up but after cooling down it slows down and was pulling 400-500w to maintain temperature. It should be the best option for off grid a/c . The instructions state the condenser can be mounted vertical or horizontal so it could probably be mounting underneath but most are mounted on the back or roof.
can you share rough dimensions of the indoor and outdoor unit please
I was curious, too, JR...but couldn't find that exact brand name unit. It looks like (as we often find) a bunch of these are made identically. Here are the metric (sorry!) measurements from one that looks like the same unit:
So I took it out of the box to get measurements and I guess I was sent the wrong unit. I only initially opened it to make sure was no damage and didn't unwrap it but heres pics of the unit and the link to Amazon. It's a nekpokka brand not the cncest. NEKPOKKA 12V electric air conditioners for RVs, trucks, construction vehicles, excavators, harvesters, agricultural machinery (12V) https://a.co/d/0ubyfuB . I just listed on eBay and Facebook but if anyone here wants it I'll do $350 and it should cost about $50 to ship . If I can't get that for it I will hold onto it I may end up using it somewhere
The outside unit is 21" x 16" and inside is 18" x 14"
Actually think this was the one I meant to order I found the YouTube videos on it, when I look at Amazon purchase history I guess they just switched the product and kept same listing, sorry for confusion but it is the nekpokka one
If anyone is local I can loan you the a/c tools or help you vacuum/charge it once you get it hooked up. It takes r134 and same as charging car a/c systems.
you got sent a better unit for conversions in my opinion... this is the one where you can nicely mount the condenser under bus similar to a skirt condenser of a factory system.. im assuming this a Cool only system? if so with a scroll compressor you have a much wider acceptable angle of install for the outdoor unit as you dont have an accumulator.. 134a seems to do a better job of oil transmission.. less likeliehood of oil getting sumped..
of course the indoor unit typicalls has less of a range of mounting as it needsa to drain the condensate.. it looks like a surface wall mount similar to a standard minisplit.
