This bus needs a good home, if I was ready... I hope you find a buyer who will love it! It is truly a gorgeous bus (crowns are like that...)

Responding to an old post is no big deal.

However, when the original poster has not been on the board for two years it is almost certain that they will not respond.

If you look at their user profile and click on stats it will show you when they were last active. I try to look at this before posting to old threads to see if the members are still around.

It's a Ford Detroit chassis.

As Crown built their own chassis is this a Ford chassis transplanted into a Crown?

Where does DDC come into the picture?

Google yielded this: "Detroiter could refer to: A resident or native of Detroit, Michigan"

As far as I know Crowns came from a plant in Chino. I used to go by it on my way to school ...

DDC came in the picture when you just brought it up. Don't think it has anything to do with Detroit Diesel. Detroit Chassis is based out of Detroit, Mi.

About Detroit Chassis - Detroit Chassis
"Our Detroit plant was launched in Detroit in 1998 as a purpose built lean assembly plant for rolling chassis.
Detroit Chassis has assembled the Ford F-53 motor home chassis since 1999"

So did they retrofit a Detroiter chassis into a Crown? As they started building them in 1998.

Someone did. If you had read the listing you would know it was probably not a factory configuration, the chassis is a 1969 model with a 1991 Crown body topping it.

Wait a minute, just found something fishy here. Claims a 68 chassis with a 91 body. But this tag says differently, 8/71

With those numbers maybe it's possible the factory did it, But I doubt they had 4 year old chassis' laying around.

I am impressed!

A 1969 chassis from a company that opened for business in 1998. Apparently they sideline in time travel.

I know jack about crown busses.

I got the impression from the ad it was he was saying it was a 91 pax bus, not a 1991 body.. could be mistaken.

edumacate me here, I know what a 10 speed fuller is all day, but what engine options came in these beauties? ad says 8 cyl, factory plate says 220hp

hah lol I mean it's a real pretty bus I guess

I've heard the term car porn before, referring to looking at or reading about supercars you'll never buy, engine specs you'll never wrench on … it's reading/viewing for the joy of reading/viewing. so yeah, by those terms that was very much bus porn
