1955 GMC 7 Window

For SALE! Rolling and complete but not running. No title, no key. Located in Bieber, CA, 96009. 1955 GMC. I towed it home about 7 years ago. I was told that it was parked running but needed brake work. I never tried to start it. The rocket hood ornament is a rare factory option, probably worth a couple hundred on ebay. Not sure about buses, but I have retitled trucks and they are probably the same.. This vehicle is no doubt off the books, as such it is just a matter of the correct forms and a VIN number inspection. Have done it several times. The forms are available online at the California DMV site.

Its not so easy in FL. Last time I got a vehicle without a title it took over a year to get one.

You should see the procedure for New Jersey. Starts with a title and lien search in state, if that's empty, five surrounding states are searched. Then certified letters sent to the seller or any discovered prior owners, an ad in the newspaper, photos of the vehicle and VIN or VIN rubbing and countless other forms. Realistically, that process couldn't be done in less than six months. I bought a project motorcycle without a title and I think I'm going to go the route of registering in Vermont and then transferring it to NJ, who will then produce a title since Vermont doesn't title vehicles that old.

The bus had 1960's vintage plates on it. I bought it from Willie. Here is a video of Willie driving his steam tractor about 6-7 years ago. He is still alive but getting pretty hard to communicate with. He had never had a title either. The other youtube videos are of the bus being moved about. Enjoy!
