1966 Crown 35' 41 passenger 220T Spicer 5 speed $4000 OBO

I bought this and another bus with the intention of selling 2 buses and using the money to convert a third. I didn't win the 3rd bus - it sold for $4500 and was deemed by the mechanics to be in the worst shape of all 3 for sale. Tires on that bus were showing a lot of wear and the clutch was in question. Brakes were due for service as well.

Now I've got two to sell unless this '66 goes for enough to convert the '67. I have a budget including a 10% overage of $6000 for my conversion all written up so help me put another schoolie on the road and buy this one for 6K!

This is a 1966. It is freaking awesome. Really nice. Sides are straight and no rust whatsoever. I don't think it ever saw salt. I will photograph anything you want to see on it and take cell phone video of it out on the road if needed.

Located in Jackson WY

199,000 miles

Runs and drivers awesome. Retrofitted with a turbo pushing low boost for a little extra on the mountain passes. Top speed is about 60mph. Cummings 220 should get about 10-11 mpg @ 55mph. Said to have about 10K-15K on a new clutch assembly AND pressure plate. Cost for this service was $5500 alone!

Serviced by the same mechanics since new.

Owned by the same company since new.

Tires are very nice in rear, decent in front.

Everything works - The motor has been ether trained for cold starts. Its cold here in the Grand Tetons most of the time.

Stored 6+ months each year with coolant drained and refilled each spring to prevent seepage through the heads.

I have plates and insurance on this bus and will drive it to your location for an agreed upon amount.

No Doubt Man! I hope I can scrape up enough scratch to do this right. I've got a good job here that I can stay with - its a remote location with a full hookup. My 23' coachman bumper pull works great but just isn't quite what I want.

Noted and thx for the advise. I've been lurking since before the last podus took office. I've had enough BS and spam in my inbox is the last thing I want.

PM for questions and more advise. I'm open to offers. really. the one deemed a POS by the mechanics' went for $4500. OBO and I need to go back to the east coast to see my people - Lets make a deal! I'll PM my ph# if I think you're legit

Is this Coach still available or has it been sold: Anyone know? Think it might be Gone. As a new member just came on board with A Crown on the Crownjunkies forum with no photo's but said it was a Grand Teton tour vehicle? mokibra

Re: 1966 Crown 35' 41 passenger 220T Spicer 5 speed $4000 OBO

In his original post the seller mentioned that he was trying to sell this 66 to fund the conversion of the 67. I just purchased the 67, and will be pulling the seats out this Saturday!

My understanding is that this one (the 66) sold previously.

I had wondered if her 2 sisters were identical or just similar... From the looks of these pictures, they were identical. Except for the number on the side and a few different scratches, it could be the same bus!

So far I have been very pleased with the 67. I hope the new owner of this one is as pleased with his as I am with mine!

Later,
Cervantes

OK, point taken!

For comparison, I have some pictures of my bus (#3) to compare with the 1966 this thread was discussing (#2)

They can be found at http://s5.photobucket.com/albums/y163/79kz400/1967 Crown Bus/

Ciao,
Jeffery
