1983 Crown Supercoach
it's been a tragically short romance, but i'm looking to sell my 1983 crown supercoach. it's as clean as can be, only flaws being aesthetic... a slightly cracked window above the 25th seat, and a little scrape on the back right side, which occurred while the bus was still in rotation, and has since been mostly repaired... i'll include pics
10 speed road runner trani
turbocharged detroit
tandem axle
260,000 miles
fresh tires
the works...
i think 13,500$ is a reasonable price for this thing. call or text me @ 541-999-6386
the bus is currently in eugene, oregon

Aren't you thinking about the Crownguy's Supercoach that everyone wanted?
Sometimes those things go by and you just want to kick yourself for not grabbing them.

No. But I do know all about this one. We all thought it was being sold to someone for conversion and finding a good and loving home. Not this... this smacks so much of a certain Hawaiian who haunted this board some time ago and who shall remain nameless. The only two Crowns I've mentioned lately were both 2 axle Detroits. One an Automatic and the other a 10spd manual. As far as I know they are both still available. the automatic is at a scrap yard though and may not last very much longer, a week or two maybe. Oh well, then I'll be able to get some parts I need for mine. Anyone who is truly serious about acquiring a good Crown must have the budget and money in your hand and ready to go, because when they come available they do tend to go fast. Some faster than others it's true, but for what you can get from a really well taken care of unit, there isn't anything like a good running Crown. And nothing will last as long as they can when routinely maintained. The 10spd 2 axle one I posted before is coming out of commercial service and well maintained to CHP standards. His asking price of $7500 is extremely fair and as you can see here with this particular tandem price, some folks can't help trying to get more than you can get right from the commercial fleet operators.

It's one of the holy grails of buses. They sell easily for what you're asking to the person that is financially able. It's just that this crowd is mostly feeling lucky to have Bluebirds and Thomas buses. We're a cheap group. Often our entire build totals the asking price on your bus. It's nothing offensive, most of us are just priced out of this bus.

ahhh, i see. i know a little more than nothing about some things. i've done quite a bit of scouring crown info. i hope it wasn't too much of a mistep posting this here! truly sorry, if it was. i bought this not long ago with every intention of converting it, and loving it forever, but i felt a little heavy once i got home, carrying the weight of responsibility that comes with owning such a beautiful piece of machinery/art/history...

It's not wrong to post it here. Lots of people read here that never post. You never know who wants to buy. Discussions about any bus on here could seem somewhat offensive to owners. There's a lot of people here that would like to crawl all through that Crown. The problem for most of us is we already have one or more buses. I'll guarantee you someone is looking for that specific bus.

It's a 40-foot tandem (dual rear drive). All 3-axle Crowns are 40 feet long.
