1985 Skoolie for sale $14,500

Greetings! We have a good deal for you. Fully converted skoolie. Ready to go. We bought this from a family that was getting ready for a big trip in 2014. They did all kinds of repairs listed below. The power steering had to be fixed and a part needed arrived later than they could wait. The bus sat for 20 months during their project. They moved and had to sell. We bought it this May after having A to Z bus service which is an authorized bluebird repair shop, flush the coolant which did not do an damage from the long time sitting they confirmed, oil change and topped off transmission fluid. Plus all new batteries. We had them test drive it too. Top speed is 55 mph with how the engine is currently configured. They looked at everything and we did all the repairs they recommended.

We were heading out and an hour later we overheated. We are not handy to fix that sort of thing so we called AAA. Due to our location we had to be towed. A to Z inspected all the parts that could have cause the overheat and test drove again. They said everything looked fine. While waiting for the tow we had second thoughts and realized this is not the right vehicle for us. We need something newer. Time to sell. We are moving and would like to sell soon. We are out of state. The service manager at A to Z can show the bus to you and do a test drive. You must coordinate with me for a visit. Please serious inquires only for viewing the bus. Call/email and get questions answered first.

We are asking $14,500

That looks like a great bus and a well done conversion.

It is interesting that it has a side aisle rather than the more common center aisle. It makes the use of the space different from a center aisle. For one thing, it makes the bathroom huge in comparison.

It is too bad it didn't work out for you or for the original convertors.

I hope it finds a good home with someone here.

You would be hard pressed to do a conversion of that quality for that price today.

I am a bit puzzled by the top speed of 55 MPH. I have seen many BB AA with Cat 3208's of that vintage and I have never seen one that had a top speed that slow. It is very possible someone spe'c'ed with gears that are great for climbing big hills and not for highway speed. But it would be nice if it could go a little faster. The only one I have ever seen that went that slow had a two speed rear end with the switch in the engine compartment. Low side had a top speed of about 50 and the high side had a top speed of about 70.

The converters had it for many years and used it. Then another family traveled for over a year with it. Then it was sold to the folks we bought it from. I believe it was dine in 2006. It was meant to be this way. Big drop of cash but someone will get a good deal. We need to part ways pretty soon.

For the top speed the service center recommended taking the fuel injector or pump (I forget which now) out and cleaning and re calibering it. That could improve the speed. It is above me. Someone else will know the right path for it.

The hallway on the side does make the bath HUGE. If over 6ft you do need to duck on the side hallway though.

It is still for sale. I have not had a ton of time behind the wheel with this one. I drove it for about two hours. The bus did top out at 55mph so that is the one thing of note.
