1990 TC2000 w/ new generator!!!
I'm thinking seriously about selling this unit. I bought it from a bus dealership in Albuquerque and drove it to VA then to FL and now it resides in El Paso TX. Great vehicle with the 5.9 cummins turbo diesel, allison auto and 4.33 gears! This bus will do over 75 mph and averages 11.5 mpg at 65 mph loaded heavy. It is a front engine design for easy access for service. It was ordered from Bluebird as an activity bus so it has overhead storage on both sides, full length of the bus. It also has 1 large storage bin behind the passenger side rear wheels and 2 on the drivers side plus a door behind the rear wheels for access to a spare tire. It had no spare so I installed a brand new Generac 40G generator, a dedicated battery and fuel tank. I have wired the generator to a panel in the bus with 2 breakers. All the seats have been removed except 1 set of seats on each side up front. Also I have made a bulkhead to seperate the rear storage area (about 10 feet) from the living space. There are 2 crudely made bunks for kids and a queen bed at the back connected to the bulk head. Also since it was a activity bus it had a factory roof rack about 10 feet long with a ladder on the back for access. The bus has a brand new 8D starting battery and 2 6 volt interstate 250 ah house batterys with a 700 watt inverter. This bus has all the most important equipment already, just needs your floor plan. I will try to get some photos soon. Wanted to see if there are any interested parties. I paid $2750 for the bus (they were asking $3500) plus about $425 in batteries and the Generator lists for $2000. It also has the remote panel but not installed yet. make a resonable offer and contact me if you would like to see or drive it. It is currently parked at my place of employment and I think they would like to see it go as well ; )
Thanks

Re: 1990 TC2000 w/ new generator!!!
I have a 91 TC with 4.33's and when I first got it, it would only do 57 (speedo's off by about 10%, so really 62) Anyway I had a friend turn up my governor and now it does 77 top speed (speedo is still off 10% so it reads about 70) I don't normally run it that fast, it gets terrible fuel mileage at higher speeds. I can get about 9-10 crusing at about 60-65.

Re: 1990 TC2000 w/ new generator!!!
I live in Az. and am looking for a school bus to buy. I am curious to know more about your bus, front engine or rear , how many passengers, how many miles on it, dog nose or flat nose. I am new to this forum, but for the past several days I have become addicted to this site, I may need some therapy.

Re: 1990 TC2000 w/ new generator!!!
Not sure what rpms you were running or tire size. They both matter of course. Cant remember my tire size off hand but I was around 3000 rpms at 75 mph. A little fast for me, just wanted to know if it would. I run it at about 65 on average, depends on the traffic. My first bus did 56 mph wide open. This on runns with the traffic so the tractor trailers aren't blowing by me like I'm standing still. Anyway, I am going to try to upload these photos. Please forgive the mess inside. It is currently a storage building on wheels since we are still moving things to the new apartment.
Aha! I uploaded images to gallery. Go to http://www.skoolie.net/gallery2/v/Skoolies/Excalibrate/ to view bus. By the way if you didn't know already this bus has air brakes. With a few minutes I can secure the stuff in the bus for a test drive. If I get a buyer I will need a few hours to unload it.

Re: 1990 TC2000 w/ new generator!!!
I'll have to get the vin monday. The length is about 35' give or take a few inches, milage is about 188K. Odometer stopped working about 1000 miles ago, havent had money to fix it. All other gauges and systems work great. Great brakes, nearly new rear tires (firestone, not retreads) generator has less than an hour usage, haven't even sent in warranty card. 'Vehicle is from New Mexico School system. They apparently trade out more than the schools here in El Paso. They are still running buses from the 80s and 70s here . . .

Hey, we have more photos! Someone decided the bus needed new paint. Go to http://www.skoolie.net/gallery2/v/Skoolies/Excalibrate/ and look on page 2 for updated photos.

Does that mean the price will be lower? All kidding aside. They have stuff for graffitti removal. Do a search while it is still fresh.

Re: 1990 TC2000 w/ new generator!!!
Here in Austin, some local small businesses were successful in prosecuting taggers by finding their Myspace pages, printing out the pictures the taggers took of their 'work' and text describing there exploits and turning it over to the police. The police used the info to get there personal data/ip address and prosecute them.

Well atleast it is artsy. I would say it is one of a kind.
Though I would be really pissed!

Re: 1990 TC2000 w/ new generator!!!
OK, close but no cigar . . . I had an offer for $4000 and offered to take $4200 but was not accepted. Barring any better offers it goes to Ebay. I wanted to give you guys first shot at it. The average price I see for a bus like this one is about $3500 without any work done or a generator so I think I am offering a pretty good deal. If anyone else cares to offer before the weekend, go ahead and PM me or email yonderlodge@yahoo.com
ooooppps!!! spoke too soon, maybe we do have a buyer. Damn, I'm gonna miss this beast.
