1996 Thomas

I am selling a 64 passenger 1996 Thomas School Bus. I bought the bus and started to convert it to a work truck for my electrical service. I will be relocating to Minnesota for a new job and no longer need the bus. I still have the seats and can reinstall them if the buyer asks, I can keep the bus as is--it has 8 metal cabinets bolted into place, or I can remove everything for an empty shell. It has good tires and a good engine. Sometimes the bus has difficulty shifting into third gear. I think this is due to a engine power issue; perhaps restricted fuel supply.

8 cylinders, 78,000 miles, 7.3 liter turbo diesel, automatic four gear transmission.

Asking $8,000

Advice

I have been trying to sell this bus for several months, on craigslist and facebook, and was wondering if anyone could offer advice? Is the price too high, description not enough, etc. etc.

Thank you!

Yeah, it seems pricey for a bus that sounds like its not shifting very well.
That bus is primo shape at a dealer would be maybe $3500-$4500.
Not trying to be mean or anything. Just giving an honest opinion since you asked. I've owned and sold 3 buses so far and I'm in FL where prices are HIGH.

West coast here. I'd expect to find that bus around here for $2,500 to $3,500, if it had no problems.

That's not to say you can't find someone with the tiny house bug that would buy it.

Sorry for the bad news. The majority here are auction buyers.

Is the bus from Nebraska?

Yes the bus is from Nebraska. Originally the bus was used at St. Joseph's School in Lincoln, NE. The bus was sold because the summer camp was dwindling in participants.
