1997 International Blue Bird 77 Passenger for sale

Looking to sell our bus that we got at auction, plans changed! Has had a significant amount of demo work done to it by me. I purchased the bus from a school district in Colorado and drove it home to South Dakota with no issues, it is in great running shape. Bus is located in eastern South Dakota. Driver's seat has been removed in pics but I still have it. See pictures for details, feel free to ask any questions!

Asking only $3,500 - looking for quick sale!!

Hey there, I'd love to know the length bumper to bumper if you've got it, also how hard would it be to get that seat back in so I can drive it to my folks place in MN.

Would love to know specifically which transmission it is as well, but as long as it's not the 545 I'm very interested.

Thanks for your interest! The bus is being kept at my friends' place about 90 minutes from me. I called and asked if he could get this information for me, so I will post it here when he gets back to me. The transmission is definitely not the 545, that I am sure of. I believe the bus is 35ft bumper to bumper but I will get confirmation on that as well.

The driver's seat is bolted in so it's just a matter of reattaching it, no big deal there.

T-handle shifter or digital display with touchpad? The latter is the MD3060. The MT643 will have a temp sensor in the fluid pan, the AT545 will not. 1000, 2000 series can have T-handle shifters as well.

Thanks for that info! It is definitely the MT643 then. I found the model # on the transmission itself before, but just could not remember which one it was. I just remembered being pleased at finding that it was not the AT545!

So it has the temp sensor then? Good. Any pics of the frame rails? I'm waiting on an insurance claim settlement, so if it's still available by then and minimal rust, I might be interested.

Sounds good! I do not have any pictures of the frame rails at this time. Next time I am out to his place I will snap some.

my AT545 on my red bus had a temp sensor in the pan.. it was optional on the 545 with a Deep pan. seems to be more common starting in the mid 90s

the MT643 when looking at the tailshaft will have a ring of bolts that go around the back.. the AT545 the tailshaft just tapers down at the rear and doesnt have that ring of bolts..

at the front where it mates the engine, an AT545 will have 2 rings of bolts on the bell housing where it goes into the engine. an MT643 will have one ring of bolts at the bell housing.

wow, to me this bus looks great. Look like one repair to a wheel well where leaky window water sat? But all the rust was cut out. With all the demo work done too. The miles are a "little" high but the tires and understorage really add to the value. I'm sure you will sell this is no time.

Of course since I've been converting a rusty but all year I'm hooked and interested. If I had the room I'd buy this myself. I have a snub nose but I'd really rather have a dog nose so I can at least see the engine.

Sent you a PM about coming to look at it. I took this weekend off just in case and got some cash ready to go. IDK how far it is from where I am, but hoping we could go there and back in one day.

Is is still for sale? Too tired to tell if the DT466E can keep this bus at 55 MPH in the right lane on flat land.
