1999 AmTran/IC 3800, 90% conversion

Solid engine/transmission combination, professional roof-raise, 90% complete and ready for your finishing touches and style.

Specifically selected for the DT466E/MT643 combination, the bus is also equipped with a Klam Driveline Retarder courtesy of Littleton Public Schools. What's a Klam Driveline Retarder??? Magic, that's what. It uses magnetic eddying (yeah, really) to slow the vehicle without friction or heat buildup. Save your service brakes AND stop smoothly.

Appx 140k miles on the engine.

5/6 tires new as of 2021.

Mechanically evaluated by Allegiance Trucks Hudson (IC dealer/shop) in 2020.

Titled as a motorhome in FL. Coincidentally, FL is one of the best states for full-timers. Registered and insured through State Farm, so no unpleasant surprises when it's time to get on the road (legally)

Conversion details:

Gutted

Wiring de-rat's-nested. No more ignition interrupt circuit.

Floor Ospho'd and painted

16" roof raise completed by Colorado Custom Coachworks. (https://www.coloradocustomcoachworks.com/)

RustOleum High Performance Protective Enamel exterior paint.

Wheel well rust holes removed and patched with heavy plastic sheeting, (rust proof) riveted and PL'd, bedliner spray on the outside, spray foam backing on the inside.

16" on-center 2x4 floor joists, spray foam between, 3/4" ply subfloor

2x3 wall studs screwed and PL'd onto ribs

2" foam board wall and ceiling insulation

Furring strips screwed to roof ribs- ready for tongue-and-groove board ceiling.

12(!) RV windows, installed between ribs to maintain structural integrity.

Standard-size RV door framed and skinned. Includes mechanical combination deadbolt.

Interior framing, including king size bed frame, "attic" storage space above, bathroom, and bedroom dividing wall.

All framing done with Kreg fastening system.

Kid-size bunks.

King size Purple mattress, always mattress-covered, 1 year old.

2x 100 gallon fresh tanks under bed to prevent freezing, 12v water pump with accumulator, pex plumbing to sink and shower, capped tails for future kitchen sink.

Under-bed storage pass-through

Dometic CFX3 95 top-open fridge.

EZTank Tankless 101 propane water heater with roof exhaust and steel propane lines. 2x PowerTank brackets installed on-frame. Easy to change propane tanks at an exchange or have them filled for more capacity.

Stock tank tub, big enough to soak up to your neck!

100 gallon grey tank under body with frankly excessive steel attachment system. All nuts loctited.

Nature's Head composting toilet.

Copilot seat and "vintage" bench seat bolted through flooring.

5000lb receiver, 6000lb hitch, trailer plug, MasterTow dolly included.

Full-time lived in through NY winter and FL summer. (No frostbite OR heat stroke!) Cross-country trip from NY to FL and back to GA completed summer 2021. Currently located near Jesup, GA.

I'm asking $60k based on the mechanical condition and systems of the base vehicle and the fact that I have already completed the majority of the heavy lifting- welding, bureaucracy, windows, tires, etc. The bus is currently very habitable and equally important, legally driveable and insurable in its present configuration. All that's left is trim, paint, flooring, and electrical.

Attached work-in-progress pictures to show construction techniques used

Thank you!
