If I wasn't already working on a bus I would be all over this. Looks like some sweat and thought went into this thing.

Starting over...

Thanks it was a great bus. I haven't seen one with less rust on this forum yet. Im sure the new owner will be happy.

a bigger bus found us and after driving it to my step dads where the plan was to remove the drivetrain for a possible future swap if I ever needed one and scrap I just couldn't do it lol. It has more room for our family of four and even though I didn't originally want a flat nose bus the view was amazing through the great big windshield. When I suggested we start from scratch to my wonderful wife she didn't get in my truck and leave me there so I knew she saw the extra space being something we could benefit from as well.

A year ago our bus project was going to be for road trips and camping but after reading the stories of people who have created comfortable homes from a bus and meeting a member of this forum who has done this my views have changed I would love to create a home that we can enjoy and spend more quality time with my kids while they are still kids, sometimes I feel like all I get done is work to pay for my house or work on my house lol.

I will probably create a thread for our new project after I get started I have been lurking around for awhile but this is a great group of people who I would like to get to know better!

I like the front door. I have been looking at options to replace the standard folding door on mine.

Thanks Ace installing a door like the one on my old bus is pretty easy once you get started. You will need to have or know someone that has basic metal working tools and you just make a frame to fit the door you have. Install metal back around the holes you leave behind and screw the door in using sealant. Moving the steps out and installing the electric bottom step however was much more time consuming and expensive. I think it is a very cool/unique feature of that bus but in the interest of getting my new bus done in this decade I will probably skip that modification.
