We have for sale a 1999 Blue Bird TC2000 School Bus. It’s got a Cummins 5.9L Engine with just over 116,000 miles on it. This engine has been called the “Million-Mile" engine so it's just getting warmed up! It starts on the first try every time and drives great! It has an Allison AT545 Transmission. There are 2 storage areas, one on each side of the bus. Each storage area has 2 lockable doors with shared inside dimensions of 97”x27”x22”. All doors have keyed locks that we installed. We have also installed keyed locks on both the front door and rear door. The windows are tinted to reduce heat buildup inside the bus.The bus is currently located in Eugene, Oregon.
This bus is Ready-To-Build! A clean slate with most of the dirty work already done! We have taken out the seats, flooring, subfloor and heaters, and closed and sealed the coolant loop. We gave it a good cleaning, sealed up holes, applied Ospho rust converter and painted the floor with Rustoleum. We left the switches and wiring in for the heaters, in case anyone wants to repurpose them.
We bought this bus directly from a local school district in Portland, Oregon, about a year ago. Unfortunately, my dad passed away and mom needed assistance. Our plans and needs have shifted, so we have (reluctantly) put our Skoolie dream on hold for now…
Of course with any used vehicle, as mechanically sound as it is, it has a couple of issues. There is a crack in the windshield running diagonally through the driver’s side glass (see photos). The estimate for the glass from Western Bus Sales is $116 and includes a tint. We have read that these are fairly easy to install and is described in the operating manual (see link below). Also, we had a slight run-in with a tree at the back top right corner of the bus. The damage is cosmetic and does not affect the bus mechanically, but could use some more attention.
