2000 38’ 84 Passenger Thomas / Cummins - Runs Great and Travels Time!

Here’s our little lady, Le Phoenix. We've owned and operated this bus since 2017 as part of our 30-bus fleet. She's been one of our most reliable runners with very minimal downtime. She runs very well and we’re super sad to have to sell one of our perfectly good Cummins gals, but due to Covid our nonprofit is forced to shut down and offload assets for less than they're worth.

Quick & Dirty Details
2000 38’ 84 Passenger Thomas Built Cabover (Forward Control)
Actual Mileage Unknown (~200K)
VIN: 1T88U3B23Y1083919
Cummins 5.9L 24v - SN: 45850050
Allison MD 3060 6-Speed Transmission

It's posted on eBay and the transaction will ultimately take place on that platform. Full description and more photos there. Here's the link: http://ebay.us/TGRUqu?cmpnId=5338273189

I'll also be selling three other buses this month, plus one other that's also currently listed on eBay:
MVP (40’ 1998 rear engine Cat 3126A / Thomas)
Taraza (39’ 1998 International 466E / AmTram conventional)
Odrade (39’ 1998 International 466E / AmTram conventional)

Manuals?

Do you happen to have any maintenance manuals for the 2000 Thomas? I have searched high and low, all I can find is the manuals for the rear engine not the front engine. Also, do you know if you had the 53 Cummins block and did you have any issues with it cracking?

I do not have the Thomas service manuals unfortunately. We run about 10x 5.9L buses in our fleet. Pretty much every time the bus goes out, that 5.9 is under full load moving the bus around, especially when it's over-full of passengers and headed uphill on a hot day. So these engines really have it as hard as a 5.9L ever could. I've never checked for the Brazilian cast 53 block marking, but we've never had a cracked block (knocking on wood) w/ our Cummins gals. We've actually never had a Cummins engine fail on us since we've been in business over the past 12 years. We have experienced warping exhaust manifolds shearing bolts off and coming loose on multiple 5.9s - but that's really the only issue we ever have with em. A three-piece aftermarket exhaust manifold solves that problem.
