2000 Amtran, 77 passenger

It seems I am unable to locate an insurance company to properly cover my bus. I could get coverage after it has been fully converted, but in its current state, no one will cover it. It has been a very frustrating experience. If I can't get it covered by next week, I am giving up and selling it. It is a 2000 Amtran re with int. t444e diesel and auto. It was a special needs bus and has a passenger mid door and wheelchair lift. About 140,000 miles and good tires. No conversion has been started yet, it starts and drives fine. I hope to get 2000.00 for it. I am in Va beach, Va area.

That's probably what I'll be looking at as well. What with New Jersey being just *so* strict about who can insure here. GMAC, for example, was banned from insuring residents for some sort of illegal shenanigans.

Unfortunately, every state is different when it comes to insurance and insurance regulations

This is what I finally did after insuring with progressive and getting a cancellation a few weeks later. I insured with them as commercial and had no problems. I even did it over the phone and they knew exactly what I had. It was almost 3 times as much.

I spoke to them last week, the commercial side said they could not write any coverage for a school bus. I explained it had a driver seat only, ect... Still, they won't do it here.

If you decide to part with it, I'd be interested depending on the details.
