2004 International IC3000 (Titled and Registered as a Motorhome) 55989 Original Miles

For Sale
Asking $7800.00

Located in Georgetown, KY

Year: 2004
Make: International
Model: IC 3000
Miles: 55989
Engine: 210hp 7.3 T444e Diesel
Transmission: Allison 2400 series with OD
AC: Front and Rear (non working)
Heater: Front and Rear (Working)
Maintenance Records: Yes

Registered and Titled as a motor home: YES

My gf and I bought this bus last year from a Head Start Program,
Drove it from NJ to KY without any issues. (had to add power steering fluid once and radiator coolant once.)Never overheated, just topped off.

The bus was hardly used due to the fact that most of the children either walked or were driven to school.

This bus gave us hopes and dreams of living in and exploring the US in ways only our imagination could show us.
Everyone wants to know why are we selling a bus with such low miles. Well... this may sound a bit unusual; my gf and I are fulfilling our dreams of becoming sailors and since the bus cannot float (very long) we don't have a need for it.

I'm a firm believer in being honest from the get go so here is everything Good, Bad, and Ugly:

The Good:
  • Mileage (Great! 55989 original miles)
  • Tires (Rear are great, front are good)
  • Body is mostly good with a few minor dents
  • Windows are all intact with no leaks
  • Doors (Good no leaks)
  • The ceiling of this bus is 6'3"
  • Main door has a Lock on the handle
  • Electric hydraulic brakes (not air)
  • Transmission (Good no issues)
  • Half of the seats are removed
  • Two Napa Commercial batteries (excellent condition)
  • Has always had a rust barrier sprayed on the bottom.
  • Maintenance Records: YES
  • Already Registered as a Motor Home
The Bad:
  • Radiator (has a slow leak)
  • Power steering pump (has a slow leak) I have the seals for the pump ready to put on and may have them installed before you purchase the bus.
  • Instrument Panel hour meter not working properly (youtube shows you how to fix this issue cheap. Common problem)
  • Instrument Panel voltage meter not working (youtube shows you how to fix this issue cheap. Common problem)
  • Air conditioners (2) are non functional, but still intact (may need recharging)
  • Found two rust spots on the passenger side rear, Check the photos. they were surface level I sanded and put white paint on them.
The Ugly:
  • Dent on the top rear passenger side (non leaking)

Please note that in the interior photos you will see seats behind the driver side. They are NOT bolted down, there only for storage.

Also... the stickers from when this was a bus like "School Bus" are still on and have not been removed.

Some of the passenger side seats have been removed from the rear.

I have many more photos.

Feel free to ask any questions you may have.

Details added.

There were two surface level rust spots on the passenger side rear that I sanded and painted in white. You can see them in the photos.

The white paint is over sprayed. The spots (2) were no larger than a silver dollar each.

In those particular spots the paint had bubbled which allowed water to get under.

This bus has a rust prohibiting barrier on the bottom.

Have not checked the mileage with a computer. I don't have those capabilities.

The Pre School I purchased this from had 2 buses. This bus aged out. So they were no longer able to use it.

Hub meter? I don't know. Is that something on the wheel hubs? if it is then no.

Yes. It mounts in the center of the hub on one of the back wheels. It counts wheel rotarions and displays mileage.

Dashboard failures are somewhat common on these buses. When they fall they are often replaced with a new one that displays zero miles.

So, it is fairly common to see a 15 year old bus showing 80k miles on the dash and 180k when you check the computer.

Finding a 15 year old bus, that has been in school bus service, that has under 150k is like finding a unicorn

I have all ASE inspection records with mileage. I believe this is the unicorn you are talking about.

The records don't state that the gauges have been replaced.

Awesome!

If you have service records that back up the odometer you do have the proverbial unicorn.

That definitely makes the bus even more desirable.
