2007 BlueBird Vision ($10k, Colstrip, MT)

We ended up with a 54 passenger BlueBird Vision school bus with 126k miles on it. It just came out of service and is in great shape. Front tires have great tread, rear tires are in good shape. I wouldnít hesitate to run down the road with this. We bought it because it has a 2006 Cummins 5.9 24 valve, with no emissions junk or DEF. It was a rural school bus that had an all highway route so itís clean and rust free. There isnít any salt used here.

I thought I would throw it up for sale here with the skoolie crowd in case it met someoneís needs. I have a camper truck project and can appreciate what you could do with this large of space. This thing is just too good of shape to rob the drive train, so hopefully someone is interested. Iíll take off the school stickers and if someone needs some seats out Iíll help with that.

Weíre about 2 hrs from Billings Montana which is the closest airport. Itís titled in Montana.

Nice bus, it will be a good start for a skoolie. Ashland S/D? Here's a picture of my 1953 International R150 Colstrip and then Ashland bus.

Looked up the info on the Bluebird portal for this bus. Looks like Belfry Public Schools was the original buyer.

That’s a cool style bus. Would be sweet to put a Cummins in it ;). Jk, but I know a guy who’s selling one that would swap right in there.

I sent this info to someone looking for a bus. Exactly what do you mean by no Emissions? I realize it won't have DEF being a Pre 2010 bus, but what about EGR and Cooler and DPF? Non of that either??? What about engine hours?

The engine is 2006, so there is no DEF, Regen, any of that stuff from the factory. I guess what I'm trying to imply is that the year of the motor will be much more reliable since it was pre all of the modern emissions systems which cause issues with desiel engines. It would still meet any of it's emissions requirements based on that year of vehicle.

The same reasons a 2006 desiel truck is more desirable than a 2008. Reliability without needed to do any modifications that could get a person in trouble in certain states.

5.9's never had an EGR system the same as other engines... (they did a Late injector event to sort of mimick EGR and keep burn off the rest of the fuel) and they didnt have DPF.. that came with a 6.7.

the Dustbusters were good busses.. (the front looks like a dustbuster to us bus enthusiasts)..

Ahh OK, I see now. So even though it's a 2007 model bus, it was built in 09/2006 so being it was build BEFORE 1/1/2007 it beat the 2007 emission requirements.

It's awesome when that happens. I get told a lot, ohh so you have to deal with DEF since it's a 2010 model. NO I do NOT. Oh you had it deleted? NO, I DID NOT. It was manufactured 09/2009 so it never had DEF installed. So the title may say it's a 2010 bus, it's actually a 2009 bus. It even has the 2009 instrumentation on the dash like the 2008 and 2009 busses have. I've seen a 2010 that has a totally different instrument cluster than my 2010, but that one also runs DEF. I was told there's a totally different computer system on the 2010 and later years also. Mine will have the 2009 electronics and computer.

Good for us !!! We beat the EPA.... barely !!! I do still have the EGR, Cooler and DPF though. All the other features the bus has though, I'll deal with it and maintain it accordingly and shouldn't have any major problems or expenses anytime soon. I HOPE !!!
