Personal opinion, lot of money for a bus that may end up with EPA issues.

looks like a great bus..

the 6.7 cummins is one of the very few emissions engines still being manufactured... cant say there wont be an emission issue, however it has stood the test of time and hasnt had big issues..

this bus appears to have factory A/C, its priced at a premium higher price likely partly because of that.. so if you dont want factory A/C and are just gonna rip it out then dont buy a bus with it as you waste money..

Depends on year model. The 6.7 is a newer Cummins engine, likely, and I believe these are DEF / DPF - equipped. Way too pricey to start with, even for the miles, but the emissions issues are likely to be an expensive lesson best learned from others' experience. Keep in mind, my experience is mostly heavier stuff in Class 8 semi tractors.

My $0.02 - as an over-the-road trucker with 400,000 miles, one engine I was not a fan of was the Cummins ISX - we called them Cummaparts for a reason... I honestly wouldn't touch a diesel after about '02-'04, but the '04-'07s aren't quite as bad as the '07-'08+ models. 02-07 are mostly EGR-only, which isn't too bad (MaxxForce / PowerJoke 6.0 / VT365 excepted, they are junk IMO), but the DPF / DEF showed up between 08-10 and made things a lot more ridiculous (and expensive).

Cummins 5.9 (earlier ISB) and 8.3 (ISC) are good engines, and the 6.7 may be an okay engine being in the ISB family, but the DPF / DEF aftertreatment systems can be a nightmare that can ruin the whole experience for you should it decide to take a notion to malfunction.

I think you can do far better for less money IMO. $10,000 for a bus is a bit much.

starting in 2007 / 2008 the emission requirements got very strict for diesel engines.. manufacturers had to add emission control equipment like DPF filters. and later on DEF systems to keep the exhaust emissions cleaner burning..

these systems could be complex and fixing them can be quite costly.. be sure that there are no emission related or service related lights on the dash before purchasing.. the cummins 6.7 is one of the few emissions engines still being manufactured today so i trust it more than I would an emission Caterpillar or navistar engine (their 2008+ stuff was so bad they just quit making engines for highway use)..

Thanks guys! I appreciate it! One last question, what bus(year, engine) would be best for constant travel? really having a hard time finding a good bus.

That bus will NOT have DEF. That didn't start until 2013 for Cummins engines.

If you can find a workaround to delete it, then I'd go for it. But not at that price, imo. That looks like a government fleet bus which can be bought on the GSA auctions for half or less of what that seller is asking.
