i believe the govt buys them for north of 5k bucks each... and they generally do not see much surplus sales because they get used and destroyed instead of repaired. How many hours are on it? https://greenmountaingenerators.com/...sel-generator/
there are some on this site.

I've thought about it a bunch and i think being 24v would disrupt my build enough to let someone else get a good deal. I haven't even fully convinced myself that I need a generator in the first place.

Two arguments for a genny.

1. As part of an multi-component overall electrical plan.

2. (Like many households) As an emergency back-up system when nothing else is available.

RV generators saved a lot of people grief here in the Houston area during & after hurricane Harvey (no power thru the lines for weeks, no sun for several days, etc.).

Me? I am installing a small (3000) Honda. Super quiet and reliable. Just in case.

If anyone is interested at $500 plus freight let me know.

Intrigued enough to want more details. Do you know freight costs to Indianapolis?

My build will be 24V inside to match my bus' electrical system. I'll pair down the voltage using a Vanner Equalizer or some other such unit.

That's what I have and it's very quiet. It can run a 13,500 BTU unit at most. I mostly use it for hot plate cooking, lights, and fans.

I have no clue.

If you are serious, I will look into it.

FYI: I won't be on the board over the weekend.

I have the same Honda and love it.

For the bus, It's too big to fit where I want and runs on gasoline.

If it doesn't take too long, then yes, please look it up. Having a diesel genny onboard, even if its "only" 2kW would be very helpful for me.

Did a bit of checking and need:

What is your ZIP code?

Residence or business?

Forklift or loading dock available?

They did tell me that if you can pick it up at a freight terminal that you can save quite a bit.

I'm not looking to spend that many hundreds of dollars on a generator, but my thinking was to feed a 24vdc generator directly into my pre existing mppt charge controller. I did that before with an engine driven 90vdc treadmill motor with reasonable luck, except that the treadmill motor wasn't up to the continuous duty. I need something more robust.

Opened a thread for the admin to take a look at why you seem to not be receiving PMs. Outside of that, how do you want to proceed?

Since I can't seem to privately negotiate with PWN_Steve, I withdraw from consideration.
