Definitely FE.

In this picture you can see the raditator grill, drivers side rear.

Hoping you can see how the chassis is connected to the frame, these connection points have all been secured and I had a fabricator make some that were missing. In the picture you can see the chassis cross members are above the frame rails.

So first, it should never be driven 90 mph, not smart with this size vehicle but it happened. Secondly, should I ever [by mistake] get it back up to that speed, taking a picture of the speedometer would be even more insane (distraction, hand off wheel, etc).

Apparently it’s quite a unicorn of a bus! Only made for two years, and information seems scarce. Would love to see more pics...

I found the old Carpenter website archived on someone's share, attached is the description of this bus, however images are jacked up.

I am still impressed there's no rear doghouse but also that the 5.9 can move that behemoth. I've test driven a Thomas with a 5.9, MD3060 (no 6th) and 5.13 rear end and it atill couldn't get out of its own way to reach 55mph. Along with feedback from skoolie owners I've been in the market for a Cummins 8.3 or perhaps a DT530 with an MD3060 in a 40' RE as soon as my wallet can absorb one.

While this does not perform like a sports car, I have not had any issues getting on the highway. The 8.3 would definitely help if your planning on mountain driving.

It's plain to see in that picture.

Not sure if I missed that pic earlier or it's new.

Definitely an odd duck. I would love to see pics of the engine compartment.

If engine access for service is good, I would call that a pretty slick setup. RE with a flat floor and a rear exit.

I would have to agree

I have put some miles on 5.9's and they are fantastic in the right application but after driving an 8.3 equipped, full size, bus it would be hard to go back to a 5.9 in a big bus.

Im a newbie here so please forgive me! Would there be any drawbacks to this particular bus for 4-season full time living with right customizations?

My bus, or any bus needs air conditioning, heating and good insulation in 4 season living.
