Finally! A Crown I can afford!
How hard is it to get a title out there?

It's in Idaho, which isn't too hard, given how lax they usually are on rules/laws. The tricky part for you would be getting it to Florida :P

LOL it would be cheaper to fly first class to Idaho and take a limo to the site where the bus is kept than to tow it even halfway.

Too bad you can't fly to Idaho, find a motor and tranny for it, then drive it back to Florida, but that would probably cost a bit too.

A proper engine and tranny and someone/somewhere to put them in and fix probably every other thing would be very pricey.
If I'm spending more than a few grand I'm getting a coach.

Finding an engine is going to be the challenge unless you can live with a doghuse poking up in the middle of the bus.

A Cummins 220/262 pancake was a bolt in replacement for the original H-S. DD 6-71's were also used in that vintage. Newer vintage used the Cummins 855 pancake. None of which are at all common in the used market.

No they are not.
All said it would cost a ton more than a nice crown that already runs and drives. Probably more than two of them.

No Middleton is private owned and contracts with the districts. Their are a lot of tiny school dist. In southwest Idaho that sell busses off their lots. I know of 4 in my area alone.

Truth of the matter you could take virtually in line engine and it could be laid on its side..............there are a few tricks involved but it can be done.............I've also heard though I've not seen it of an 8.3 being mounted vertically..........If one was going to under go putting another engine in a Crown......I would opt for an N14 or even a Series 60.............has basically the same foot print as the big Cam Cummins........... but there are some basic mods that need to be made to lay it on it's side............
