(Almost) Free bus in the Phoenix area......

Hey Everyone,

I am considering bidding on a Bluebird FE with an 8.3 Cummins. It appears to be missing the front bumper and small items from the rest of the bus. Seller says that the bus ran when parked and has low 100k's mileage.

The bus has a generator and AC that I want. If there is someone in the Phoenix area that has the means to help me pull the generator & AC I will gift them the rest of the bus. That is assuming that I win the auctions.....

Anyone have interest?

Thanks

S.

Aye aye! I am in Phoenix and have the tools and labor to pull those pieces and tow the rest of the bus. PM me and I'll share my contact info. Can store parts till you're able to pick up or can bring them as far as Santa Rosa in march.

Thanks for the responses. The auction exceeded my budget by a good bit.....

$5k for a 1990's bus that does not run..... Amazing...

Man, wtf is up with these prices lately?
Either they go for nothing or people pay DEALER prices!

someone may have bought it just for the generator and A/C units.. you can go over 5k without a bus on that stuff.. it porbably has an 643 whicvh would bring a few $$ on the used market..

so if they just parted out the bus they probably get their 5k back

For me, $5k turns it into a HUGE gamble. If everything works you may turn a modest profit. I see similar generators on the used market in known running condition for $3000-$5000. Used roof airs...$300 each? Scrap/parts value of whats left???

If by chance, the bus was parked when the generator broke down then you could be pretty upside down in the deal.

I heard someone say " Bid low & bid often". Sounds like good advice to me.....

Thanks Everyone!!

i agree i proibably wouldnbt have bid that high from afar... but someone Local may have inspected it and then went after it. being local where the seller lets you see the bus and ask more questions in person changes the game over bidding from a distance.

but bid low and often is a great philosphy esp since it costs nothing to bid.
