Any one looking for lead acid batteries?

Hey Everyone.

I work at a recycling center and always come across goodies for my build, but have an excess amount of stuff that maybe the forum might be looking for.

I have 32 12V 730watt AGM style batteries I am looking to sell.

Here is a link to the battery.

https://www.northstarbattery.com/product/nsb-12-730rt

I would be willing to sell at 200.00/battery with you covering shipping.

I can ship a variety of different ways to help save on shipping.

Wait... Are these lead-acid or AGM? I didn't think it was possible for a battery to be both...

These are AGM..I tried to edit the post after I noticed I put lead acid in the title and couldn't figure it out how to change it. Haha.

Where are you located? I can't imagine shipping lead batteries across the states would be cheap regardless of the method.

That'd be a tough buy anyways. You can get new group 31 agm's from advanced auto for what you're asking for used batteries.

Good luck

Except they're not lead, there was a typo in the title. These ARE AGM's.

Well, technically .... AGM batteries are lead-acid batteries with an Absorbant Gel Mat (AGM) used to hold the acid between very thin lead sheets.

Like native said, agm batteries still use lead. And for whatever reason, agm batteries are typically heavier then a comparable sized SLA battery.

Used batteries are a tough sell. Mainly because there is no way to tell how many cycles they've been through.
Also their age, unless they were stickered on initial delivery.

Good luck on your sale though...

AGM ('absorbent glass mat') batteries are still lead acid batteries, Sealed Lead Acid (technically VRLA 'Valve Regulated Lead Acid) as opposed to Flooded Lead Acid. But still both are types of lead acid.

Agm batteries

These batteries high end and are used in cell towers and other applications. I have bought many of them used myself for running golf carts. They are around 700 new and are not your typical group 31 agm equivalent. Many times they are changed out due to age of the whole pack regardless of condition of the individual battery. You need to be sure of the condition of each one because individual battery cells can go bad and cause low voltage. They have a different size and cable mounting location but might do ok in a schoolie application. I used to get mine from a scrap yard for double what they paid for scrap and thought it was a good deal. Around $50 each but that was 10 years ago. What was the manufacturing date on these? It will give an idea of how much life is left in them.
