I had driven a few buses on test drives when I was turning wrenches but my first "ride" was in the skoolie I bought last year. On all my actual school days I walked 7 miles uphill both ways.

Yeah, well it was snowing on those 7 mile uphill walks where I was. And I was barefoot.

Yeah, and that accounts for my lifelong problem with math. I lost piggly wiggly.

Y'all are funny. Got time off from both jobs now, planning an early flight out on Friday, head halfway back and stop at Ozark National Forest until maybe Sunday morning, then head back home to the rv storage 1 mile from the house.

Told my mom the news, showed her the bus and some other skoolies (she asked about paint, so brought up pictures) and when started seeing some of the interiors she started says I could look at these all night. She's digging the skoolie! Already wants to help without asking, some design and layout and she loves to quilt and sew

Sooooooo.... basically what you're saying is we can expect to see some nice doilies in your bus?

Sorry, couldn't resist. I can just see your mother figuring out the curtains and stuff. Figured a little crocheting wouldn't be out of line.

More meaning I told her I may want some help with the layout, she mentioned curtains. Maybe a few doilies. Shes sold furniture for 3 different companies and might have some good input of I get hung up on the layout or figuring out where to put something

It's nice to have that help.

As long as there's a bowling alley down the middle, you're good to go.

It'll be a bowling alley, but there will be a wall in the back. Gonna have a garage area in back for tools, hiking gear, whatever else I need to put there. Maybe put electrical and hot water heater back there too

That has always been my thought too. I left about six feet in the back of my bus for a garage. I'll stick a dual sport bike in there for exploration and so I can find the good boondocking areas.

The school contact doesn't give much info, but I asked about the beeping and if it was just random beep or if there were any warning lights on and he said he was told it was just a random beep, so I'm thinking probably not an air issue (yay!) Calling them on my lunch break to arrange the pickup, stopping by rv lot to check it out after work to make sure I wanna park it there and get that lined up, and buying my plane ticket tonight! I'm excited and scared at the same time, lol

Now hold on here. It's not a competition, or is it? I draw my limit at 5 buses, but I did get rid of 2.

Chris, I hadn't heard that you'd bought a 3rd bus. And you're already looking at a 4th? I suspect you're beginning to think of a full conversion that you can be comfortable in.

For what it's worth if you extrapolate my bus purchase history I have doubled my number of buses every 13 months. This means that in 2021 I will have 16 buses.

Anyone familiar enough with these buses to know usable interior length and overall length? I was guessing about 28 behind driver seat, not sure about overall though

Just confirmed, it is the dt466e version. Asked him to get back to me about the trans, all he knew was Allison auto so I asked them to verify it for me or send me a pic of the transmission. Plane ticket is purchased so now I'm just waiting for Friday morning to come along

More details on beeping - there's no light on the dash, definitely not the air pressure. His mechanic said it always beeps, but sometimes you can hit the dash in a certain spot to make it stop, so looks like I got a wiring issue to deal with. I can work with that instead of a bad air system! Should be much simpler fix, possibly won't even need parts if I just resolder some wires. Feel waaaaaay better about this issue now

the dumbass hits the dash... ugh.... actually a system alarm can beep for many other reasons... ie the brake light switches.. there are 2, if one of the 2 shows bad for too long it will trigger an audible alarm. but not the WARN light... easily found byreading the codes and the book if he were smarter than an old brute LOL... most school systems have the Navistar service info...
