Just out of curiosity, how much did it cost you to replace that transmission? I'd like to know what I might be getting myself into...

At this point I'm to far in to change buses because of a weak transmission.
Just curious - how much does replacing a transmission cost a person with a 20 year old bus?

Just curious - how much did you have to pay to upgrade to that MT643? Who did your service? Thanks! Just trying to figure out what I might be getting myself into...

When everything was said and done, it cost almost 7000(more than I paid for the bus!)! We did however get the transmission from a dealer and we were also stuck in Quartzsite, AZ. If you were close to a city, would be cheaper. Any decent mechanic/shop *should* be able to handle it..

Was that for a brand new transmission? Or did they pull it used?

And thanks so much for sharing!

That was for a rebuilt one. Came with a warranty...they took the old one...
Basically it was about 4000 for the tranny and 2500 for the labor...
