Bus Prep Services

I've got a pile of 18ga and a giant bag of rivets. An air chisel, compressor, little welder, etc. can get whatever steel anyone needs or wants.
I can do window deletes, as well as roof hatches. Ceiling and wall skin removal I am quite proficient with.
I've got a good amount of bus demo experience and can do floor removal, paint prep, all that sort of stuff. I've even done a successful roof raise but I'm not trying to jump into that without a lot of discussion.
Ideally I'd like to strip buses for folks and have them ready for conversion - aka "ROLL YOUR OWN".

Hit me up yall.

Sounds like a winning idea, man. We paid someone to gut our bus and are SO glad we did. There's lots of half-baked buses for sale because people got burned out doing the grunt work and didn't get around to doing the fun stuff!

Although demo might be daunting to the average person now that mine is done I believe demo was pretty much fun THAT being said I had the tools and background for it .It could be a very expensive and frustrating experience for those with no background or tools. Gene

I figured there have to be some folks who would like a hand with the less glamorous parts and early stages. I think its where folks skip the most steps.

Looked at a few conversions before I started mine and I agree I believe it is where most important steps are skipped floor prep and insulation both being key. Gene

I agree, CB!

Glad to see you are putting yourself out there for the community. Perhaps (if we ever get The Beast on the road) I can help out from time to time!

I had an idea that would compliment your services.

I have been poking around looking for affordable land in a spot that will tolerate bus building.

I considered having space for DIY with power and water. If practical, a dump station. Some kind of workshop space and tool loan/rent.

I am looking at a parcel in Northern Arizona. It is right on Hey 93 about 30 minutes to I-40.

Maybe I should be looking in Florida?

Look in FL!

Or heck- come out and lets burn a few at the next event and see if we can't come up with some sort of plan or somethin.
I just know I can't do mowing full time anymore and i don't wish to. I LOVE buses and bus people and I've got enough experience to be useful to plenty of folks.
I'm just looking to do something I know I truly FIT into.

amazing. I was thinking the same. Wouldn't need over 5 acres, okay maybe 10. Saw 35 acres in Colorado, it was at 6500 feet. for 54000. Great place to meat in the summer for building a few buses. Not that 35 acres is needed, but a pricing guide somewhat. But a good central location would help cut down on miles traveled. Would love to be part of something like that. Maybe a consortium or something similar. The Skoolie Symposium! Great place for some fellowship and getting others on our bandwagon without costing a small fortune. I get my first allotment of inheritance starting next year. The search for bus will start in earnest then. Not that I don't look daily as it is. okay maybe an obsession. Still undecided on that. None the less, awesome idea.

Colorado is a great place to look for a bus, too. The fleets are well maintained and they often (maybe always?) have a supplementary braking system. Ours has an electromagnetic retarder when is great on hills and even around town. Auto chains, too, though I'm not sure how often we'll use them.

I saw something the other day that struck me as odd. Several buses out of Colorado at auction had AT-545s and retarders.

I remember you saying that. If we remove them for some reason, I'll definitely try to send them your way. We'll probably hang on to them for now since we're sticking around the mountains.
