Coach Seats Soon!

I'm going to be starting a coach conversion soon and I've seen a number of posters wanting coach seats. I wanted to offer them here before I put them on craigslist....

I've been told seats like this retail for $1000 a pair (or some incredible amount like that), and most still have a vinyl "cap" on the headrest. On the other hand, they are 1999's vintage. Offers?

BTW, I'm in Indianapolis....

That's fine. I didn't necessarily think I was going to get much for them - that's why I asked for offers. If the offer is to come and pick them up, well, that's an offer, and if it came from a member of this community, all the better. I'd know the seats would be going to a "good home".

But a little cash would make the misses a little more "understanding".... That's why I put the message in the "buy, sell, trade" area....

I dont know about Indy but I know here in C-bus there seems to be a dozen or more "chinese" bus services that take people to NYC and back regularly.. they run their busses forever... ive seen some pretty ratty seats inside thiose.. you might see if you can push some to those guys... yours look like they are in great shape.

That's a good thought. They might be willing to pay as much as half of retail.

I've done that before. I bought 37 bus driver seats through the auction. I don't remember why. That was a carp load of seats that I only needed two or three of.

Eventually I found out the sawmills around my area were very excited to buy them for equipment operating chairs. Sold them all, and I could profit from another load of them.

A bus company is going to pay a lot for matching coach seats if they need them. The standard rule for items in good condition is 50% of retail cost.

If you're able to sell you seats at a good price, you probably better throw a skoolie party.

I doubt 50% of retail. as china bus companies are cheap, however they may pay something for them.

True, but that's where I'd start. If he got $200 per pair of seats it would be a good thing. I'm pretty sure even a chinese bus company can't get matching coach seats in decent condition for that much. Used coach seats seem to sell pretty well.

Good coach seats seem to sell here. IDK about the prices but at least I've seen em sell.
That said, I'd love a couple of them if I had a way to get em.
Best of luck man.

Can you give me a name of one of those bus services, please? Once I see one of them I can find others - I only need a point in the right direction.

My seats just sold on eBay on Thursday.

However, they guy can't pick them up for nearly three weeks. He's coming up to Indy for a seatless bus early July, then dropping by to pick up my seats. If he backs out or doesn't pick them up, I'll let you know.
