It's not gas, it's propane.

Same basic engine, could be changed to gas easily. Good canidate for fuel injection at least a TBI or better yet multi point EFI

Definitely really cool looking! Sorry to hear you won’t be able to complete it and enjoy the conversion. From the pictures I saw in your build thread it looks like once it’s all complete the bus might be over GVWR.

How does the propane tanks do in your extreme cold?
Do you have blankets to wrap the tanks or have to insulate the gas lines?

my truck would start at -27 c ( -16.6 f ) without being plugged in - hit a lot of steady -35 c ( -31 f ) that winter, and some colder than that, but had no trouble starting the truck - the morning we were leaving Yellowknife, was the coldest we saw, and all the propane outlets with one exception were frozen, but the truck had started ( then the thermostat seized shut, and had to start and stop, start and stop to cool down until we came to a one service station small town - they had one thermostat on the shelf and it just happened to fit my chevy truck - damned cold on the hands to change the thermostat at -40

I bet.
I don't see anything like that here?
Was just wondering cause last year when we got 2' of snow?
I had to fix someone else's mess on a roof top where they didn't figure in the snow load or windchill for 16 HVAC units and the regulators froze up cause they only had them 4"s of of the roof and mucked an entire shopping center up?
Mainly cause the regulator vents were froze.
If you bought a propane bus in your area then I can assume it was built for your area.
Hopefully it was done correctly when it was installed for your area.
Instead of propane the natural gas companies are running there stuff off of natural?
Just an orifice and regulator gut change but I don't know if it's better or if it's free cause they are the ones that's drilled to get it?
Good luck,have fun

as far as I know, all of the propane powered buses I've run into were factory conversions - the natural gas company in this rural area must have a pump in their own yard if they are burning NG because there is certainly no availability for automotive NG in this area - I did see a bus advertised that was equipped dual fuel, NG and gasoline

I do not know for sure but I do know it can't be original. The odometer is wrong. It has a 2 barrel carburetor, elk horn exhaust manifolds, engine has been poorly painted possibly 3 times( blue, orange, blue, the ignition system is HEI. I have tried to read the numbers off the block with out success. I think the block has been decked at least once. I have not done a compression test on the engine.

the VIN will have that information - ask any dealership or most/many mechanics and they can tell you what motor you have - just did some research, and the 366 did/does come with a 2 barrel carb
