Thumbs up FOR SALE: 2001 Bluebird All American RE - Needs Finishing Touches/Cosmetic - $10k

For sale is my 2001 Bluebird All American (84 passenger), rear engine. It has already been through the body change with the state of Indiana, and is titled as an RV. Utilities (water, electric, heat/air) are fully functional. It is livable as is, as i lived in it for a few years. But it could use somebody with the motivation that ive lost, to finish up interior paneling and prettying the place up.

Mechanically the bus is in good condition. It is a Cummins ISB, and Allison AT545 transmission. Tires are good. I have put in two new batteries, new alternator, and new power steering/hydraulic lines. Runs/Drives great. Air brakes are in good working condition also.

There is roughly 115k miles on it, as the dash was replaced prior to my purchase. (odometer was replaced with new dash, so my calculation comes from the bus garage's notes as to mileage when it was replaced, plus current odometer reading)

Conversion details:

The bus was tore out to bare metal floor, seat holes patched, treated for rust (ospho, and rustoleum paint). Then 1/2" foam boards in furring strip skeleton insulate the floor, with 3/4" Treated plywood installed over.

All original bus wiring has been cleaned up, buzzers, interlock, etc, have been removed.

The floor heaters were removed, and rubber coolant lines to dash heater were removed from interior, replaced with silicone heater lines under bus to dash heater. (to maintain defroster, heat, etc while driving)

The bedroom with queen size bed, bathroom, shower, utility room, and cabinets are all framed in, with complete electrical and plumbing. (upper cabinets done, lower cabinets need completing)

The ceiling and walls are spray foam insulated.

Fresh water tank and pump are under the bed, with bypass for winterizing/pumping antrifreeze. Also a water heater bypass for winterizing. The black and gray tanks under driver side of bus, near the middle (front to back); hung by angle iron, and all-thread, on a treated wood base. Has standard dump valves/septic hookups, tank heaters, and also drain pipe heaters. Ready for winter living.

There is a party deck on top of the bus, with fold down railings for travel. And there are 2 skylights in the front living area, made with durable Lexan.

There is a fold out couch/bed in the front, full size. The living area has a 55" roku tv wall mounted, and a custom stereo. The bedroom has a 32" Roku TV wall mounted, with an outdoor TV antenna feeding both TVs. There is also a cellular antenna which i used for my verizon hotspot.

There are multicolor LED strips (with power amps), controlled by remote, in the kitchen/living area, as well as on the party deck.

There are 3 12 volt power supplies. (to supply 12v on shore power, instead of using bus batteries) 1 for RV monitor panel (level sensors, tank heaters, water pump). 1 for the LED lighting, and the last one for the front stereo system. (switched, so stereo can be used while driving as well/bus power)

There's a 240v, 5000watt electric heater in the back/bedroom, and a dedicated Air Conditioner outlet. Both are controlled by a thermostat, with an air mover/vent system to bring heat/air to the front of the bus.

The bus has a 240v/50 amp power hookup. I have schematics for all of my electrical work. Showing all the breakers/circuits, switched outlets/lights, 12v system, etc.

All windows have been tinted, and the bedroom windows are a darker/privacy tint. The middle section of the bus (bathroom, utility room) have aluminum panels and foam insulation boards over the windows.

The bath/utility area has a dometic RV toilet, bathroom sink, washer hookup, and 32x32 shower base. (drain and plumbing ran, just shower walls arent complete yet)

APPLIANCES INCLUDED WITH PURCHASE! (Fridge, Microwave, Washer/Dryer Combo, Dehumidifier, 55" Roku TV, 32" Roku TV, 5000 watt electric heater, "Mr Heater" blue flame propane heater (Backup for electrical outage), LG air conditioner, standard RV Gas range and oven, Gas/Electric 6 gallon water heater)

Exterior damage: while parked at a campground, a drunk driver ran his truck into the front of the bus... (front right side) The damage is cosmetic, and still drives fine and front heater works/no leaks. Somebody with the right tools and know how can probably pull the dent out, i dont have the tools/ability to...

Asking 10k cash for everything.

Will provide pictures, and/or make a video walk through, upon request, for those who aren't local and interested.

Hi brndn23, it is also raining here, no worries. I am in east Texas about a 12 or 13 hour drive from you. Is the bus ready for such a trip?

This seems a fair price but with all the work you did you appear to be losing money?

Nice bus though and too bad you have to sell

Silent, honestly, the longest trip ive ever taken in it was only an hour and a half or so, to southern indiana. But it drove great though with no issues. I already have extra fluids (coolant, oil, tranny fluid) in the storage bay incase any top offs were needed on a trip like that.
And ill still try and get those pics tomorrow afternoon.

Dwood443, sadly, I am losing money... but, it got me through a couple years of bachelor life, and was a fun project. Now I've got a woman who keeps "suggesting" i sell... lol

Price drop

For those interested, I will sell this skoolie/RV WITHOUT the appliances for 7k. That would be everything minus the fridge, microwave, washer dryer combo unit, portable AC unit, dehumidifier, 2 TVs, and stereo head unit. (backup camera, speakers, and subs/amp/PSU can stay, if wanted)

All RV appliances and electric heater would still be included. (5000w heater, gas RV stove, gas/electric water heater)

If I knew that it would make it from Indiana to Oregon, I'd fly out and buy it in a heartbeat.

There’s no guarantees in life, if it’s what you want make deal and go get it.
The risk and the thrill are half the fun.
Cheers

HoeckerFam, I wish I could guarantee that for you, but this is the skoolie world, and im not car salesman and wouldn't baselessely make such a claim...lol

What I can say is I think it would make it. But, just like any road trip, even in a regular vehicle, I would make preparations for a journey like that. Normal road trip stuff, tire iron, extra fluids on hand, etc. (Which i have fluids in side storage bay)

Another thing I can say is I have replaced and repaired all of the problem parts/hoses I've come across. Brand new batteries, identical ebay alternator, new hydraulic hoses, new coolant hoses. Oil change a couple hundred miles ago, flushed and refilled coolant, filled tranny fluid, filled hydraulic fluid (10w-30).

Let me know if you decide to get it about a week out and I'll be here. (I set my own work schedule)

Exclamation Price change

Alright everybody, some bad/good news depending on how you look at it.

The price without appliances is now $10K, and the price with appliances is $13K.

This is because: i found a slow leak in one of the hydraulic lines. Had a hose company come out to replace it, and their technician torqued on it so hard, it cracked the hydraulic oil cooler.... so now i am spending 3K for a new oil cooler assembly....

Bad news, yes, is the price, BUT, now she will be mechanically sound!

So again, 13k and its livable, 10k and youll need appliances.
