FOR SALE: 40-foot 2003 Dognose DT466 Allison 2000 Louisville $4000

This is mine. On FB with pictures here: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...76114796102213

Runs, drives, and stops. Great for a tiny home conversion or toy hauler.

40 foot school bus with the highly desirable diesel International DT466 engine and Alison 2000 transmission. Air brakes. 197,000 miles.

Ceiling, seats, floors, and rear heater are out. Not governed. In northern Kentucky.

Runs well, hits 70 MPH easily (though not super quickly ;) ). Surface rust only, no rot at all. Nearly new tires. Was retired from school route March 2020. Indiana title is clear.

Need it gone. Zoning is sniffing around and I don't want a ticket.

Reasonably priced, should sell quickly with all the buses asking $10k. GLWS

Would I be able to title and insure it in Kentucky?

Should be able to title and insure it here. Depending on who you talk to at the KY DMV, they either do or do not allow title conversions.

The tires are nearly new. Very good tread still. It was taken of school routes when COVID hit, and they had to keep the tires in good shape. I've barely driven it since then, and I've kept them covered to avoid sun damage. Here's a photo of one of the front ones:

I appreciate the quick responses, but after I think about it, this bus is as long as my house that I have lived in for 29 years...

I would love to take it off your hands, but it is way bigger than I need for myself and 2 pups who wouldn't live to see the finished product.

The important thing with tires is not the tread but their date.
