11X22.5 tires that are about half worn will be about 41" diameter.

What is the max RPM of a C7? What is the output of an Allison 2000? The only variables I have are tire diameter and gear ratio of the rear.

Unknown to me also. Although I'm pretty sure the Allison 2000 is an overdrive.

Allison website says .61 for 6th gear. .71 for 5th on a 2100 tranny.
.64 for 6th gear; .74 for 5th on a 2500 tranny. Paperwork says 2000, sticker says AD2000 so I dunno what it has.

I drew the line at $3600. Whomever is fighting over them now drove it well beyond my threshold. Would have been sweet to get it at teh starting bid of $1450 tho.

Are these right?!??

Backing into it, this one says 82mph at 2192 rpm using .64 tranny, 5.22 gear, 42" tire.
Engine RPM / Engine Speed Calculator

This one says 74.80 mph at 2,000 rpm using the same as above.
RPM/MPH From Gear Ratio Calculator by Wallace Racing (78.48 if I use the .61 version)*

Ok this one is just stupid, 164mph?!?**
https://wahiduddin.net/calc/calc_speed_rpm.htm

And the one posted earlier, says 132 Kmh (82mph) at 2200 rpm.
Gear Ratio Speed Calculator

*Now if I put in a 3.73 rear I can do 110mph.
**241.6mph with the .61 tranny/3.73 rear. I'm going to race Bugattis with my bus!!

Go speed racer!! With 41" tire, 2190 rpm, 5.22 gears I got
4th at 1.0 = 51mph
5th at .74 = 69mph
6th at .64 = 80mph
Plenty fast for any bus!

Brake lines rust over the years. Been there and done that. I would rather be coming down a steep grade and have brake failure with air brakes than juice. I wouldn't want to find out how quick you can get juice brakes hot in the Mts. I imo think Air brakes are superior.

I was using 42" for tires. 3 out of 4 agreed at around 80mph and the bus was purchased for field trips so it makes sense I guess. I just groaned out loud when the guy said 5.22 That overdrive is some overdrive.

I've owned some shady cars over the years. Some would give you tetanus of the eyeballs just looking at it. Never had a brake line rust thru. Catch a rock in an air tank and you won't need to worry about that steep grade. You're stopping in the middle of the interstate whether you want to or not. I think that is more likely to happen than a brake line rotting.

I don't think either are likely to happen on a regular basis tho so it would come down to e-stops and ease of checking/repairing the systems.

Something to keep in mind with the 6 speed equipped buses.

Every one I have encountered has been configured as a 5 speed with 6th locked out.

I know that at least one member here has had luck getting Thomas to provide the required letter to Allison so that they would reprogram the trans to enable 6th gear. Bluebird owners not so lucky...

looks like a 40 footer to me, but hard to tell. Its 35-40 for sure.

Q: What is the length of this bus? I'm used to dealing with school seats and windows. Passenger count = # windows x 6 The longest bus available is a 15 row, 90 passenger. This bus doesn't have the normal seats nor windows. Since I am looking for an RV conversion the actual number of seats is not important but the over all length is. (2/28/17 8:30 PM)
A: 35 ft long, 13 ft high (3/1/17 9:11 AM)
