Looks like used transmission fluid to me on the white paper. I would not be alarmed about that. The paper towel color is weird. I don't understand the yellow and the dark color.

Jeep, bus, repeat.

The paper towel was what I used to wipe between inserts.
I think the deep stick was dirty.

THAT is not a leak... If you're talking about around the full plug.
That's actually quite typical when you add fluids

Raul, As far as I could tell except for 1 rear tire, that looks like it was on the front at one time, the bus looks ok. I didn't get a good look at front tires. Underside wasn't bad. That fluid on the rag almost looked like brake fluid, to me, but if the dip sick was dirty, that might account for it. What kind of vibe did you get from it?
Sorry I couldn't be there with you, but our schedule changed.

For some reason (in the original vid) the rear drivers tire looked worn on the inside tread. Over all the tread look deep[ enough. Oh well.....did you get a chance to get the DOT date on them?

to me that looks like when you take the plug out, stick your finger in to check the fluid what will seep around the edges.. normal..

your trans stick was dirty from a little sludge.. pretty normal stuff.. the fluid color doesnt look bad considering most cameras wash out reds..

to me id say it more looks like where youd change the fluid and filter at some point but doesnt look burnt... ive seen lots worse looking fluid in transmissions that still work fine.

I got good info from head mechanic. He basically inspected bus with me twice.
Any question I had, he got under the bus and explained. Basically he was giving me free mechanic101 lessons.

Did not ask about DOT inspection. He can no longer access the records. They were sent to corporate. I called the listing company, and they will try to hunt them down for me.

He said he can't guarantee anything, but in his opinion the bus looked solid, based on how often they do maintenance on the buses, I shouldn't need any fluids change right away.

Unless someone decides to drop 10k on the bus, it should be mine.

Now the exciting/nerve-wracking process of waiting to see if you get it and for how much.

To be honest, I actually miss that a little bit!

Update: Lost the bid... Seems like someone was getting on a bid war with me, so I backed off. I guess it was not meant to be.

Might go for a 2015 - 2017 extended cargo van. Idk, we'll see.

A chevy cargo van with the 6.0 in it or even the 4.8 are pretty good and ride much better than the fords, imo.

IDk, too new for me to know anything about. But dodge products aren't what I'd be looking at. I just don't like em except the Cummins models.
the new 3.0 turbo diesel scares the crap out of me, looks like a nightmare but idk. Saw one of those new dodges this morning on my delivery run. Sweet looking rig, I gotta say.
