I've seen those GSA auctions but based on my (limited) experience it seems like they want to see a dealer license to be able to bid on those.

Probably why you only ever see dealers selling these buses. Plus a lot of them seem to be mechanics specials which is too bad since they are usually high spec (coach seating, AC, high roof, white paint, etc)

There were definitely some hoops and hurdles to jump through to get registered to bid wirh them as an individual, it can be done, I did. I was eyeballing some of the busses but the bidding was just too high for the risk.

There's very little description of the mechanical condition, driveability, etc.

And lots of the GSA buses I see have obvious things like missing belts/pulleys, oil leaks, severe body damage etc in the photos that tells me most of them are tow away.

Let alone the fact that the majority of them were around the year 2009-10.

Those buses would have had one of the first generations of dpf's and dcr's, which is something I would avoid like the plague.

I guess they did have a couple shorties with the 6.0 gasser if that's what you were looking for.
