They put the dt466 in skoolies all the way back in the late 70's. '96 would be a dt466e I believe

I figured it would be electronic fuel injection after 96...part of the reason I want a little newer model.
I'd be okay with a Cummins also...but I do want to pull a trailer so the engine is important.

Nice! I'm not the only one in the area! I'd be fine with a cummins...especially since I haven't seen any of the shorter busses with a dt466; it usually seems to be the 65 passenger and up.
