That don't look so bad for $2k. The "it cranks" isn't exactly reassuring, but....

A little more reassuring that it "cranks and run". I've messaged for more info. That fact that it's at a metal recycler isn't exactly reassuring also. If it's a front engine TC2000, I'm interested.

Nope, 98 was the last year of rear engine, back to the search.

I say if the windshield wipers and headlights work, it's good to go. Besides, it's got that groovy paintjob.

From the looks of the hubcaps (which I wish I had) it's got Wagner spoke hubs like mine.
It also has factory air (which I wish I had).
If it runs and drives it would be a heck of a deal. I'm thinking it was a Boeing plant (here in Charleston) bus from the paint job.

I would think looking at the pictures that this IS a front engine, may be you want to give it a second thought.
Companys that spend that much money on a paint job will do pretty good maintenance. Probably in a perfect shape, just got written of the books and the house scrapper bought it for $ 500.

I agree. It looks like a FE. I agree on the other points as well. If I didn't already have a bus and didn't want a 14 window (40ft.) bus, I'd probably be all over this one. At least look into it pretty close.

Now that you mention it, it does have a back door, which isn't on any of the rear engine buses. I di a search for specs on the TC2000 and found:

1998: Carryover from 1997, last year for TC/2000 Rear Engine
1999: TC/2000 Rear Engine discontinued, replaced by All American A3RE. Front-engine models receive a new electronically controlled instrument cluster with digital odometer and supplementary gauges. Outside, the headlight bar becomes all-yellow.

If it's a standard TC200 and not an RE, then it has the dreaded Cummins 5.9 and 545 tranny. The RE had the 8.3 which I would rather have. Since I plan on selling my first build I should stop worrying about the "what ifs" of the 5.9.

Are you in the area that you could go look at it for me? Before you posted I didn't want to ask you to do that for fear you would get back to me and tell me it was great deal and you bought it for yourself.

If you like planes , like me, then the price of that paint job will be the same as a new motor / tranny..

I was wondering if it was paint or a wrap. I'm seriously considering doing a wrap on mine. I have an in at a wrap company that I could get it done by having them put their logo on the wrap.
Are those broken windows or shading that is peeling?

That is a front engine bus with AC, if it runs and drives it is a great deal no mater what engine tranny combo it has, rear engine bus would not have the rear exit door

I'm waiting for the seller to get back to me. I'm interested. It will save a couple thousand on the build budget if it doesn't have any issues.

I thought the 5.9 was a good engine.. like any engine there are quirks.. fix em and have a great bus. AT545s can be swapped if you plan to make a mountain cruiser out of it.. of course the trend for caroli na busses has been that they are geared with like 6.13;s and only go 47.. so best to check that..

While it may be a good engine I keep hearing it is the least desirable do to issues with blocks cracking the exorbitant cost to repair them. I've heard nothing good about the 545 except from people who haven't had an issue with them, yet.

Are the big pods hanging in the middle inside A/C units?

First off the 5.9 isn't "dreaded". And there are MANY rear engine buses with 5.9's.
Why not just get an All American? TC was Bluebird's budget model.

I think this was on Facebook Marketplace, but I can't find the original ad. It won't let me search more than 100 miles away.

If I find it, I'll try to get you an email address.
